The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) was replaced by Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency
(DVSA) in April 2014 and provides a range of licensing, testing and enforcement services, with the aim of improving the road worthiness standards of vehicles, ensuring the compliance of operators and drivers, and supporting the independent Traffic Commissioners.
Prior to its change in 2014, Zircon provided Type Approval services to VOSA as part of the MOT Computerisation project.
Fernau avionics (now part of Moog Inc) are on of the UK’s leading suppliers of ground-based navigation aids for military, naval and civil aviation needs, plus sophisticated direction finding equipment for the world’s navies, harbour authorities and coast guards. On top of this they provide product associated services which includes, the site survey, installation, system commissioning, training, spares and repairs and logistics support.
Zircon were asked to perform a system design review for Fernau’s automated triangulation system.
