So Long And Thanks For All The Fish!

As many of you know I have been Managing Director of Zircon for 16 years. It has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride at times and, thankfully, the ups continue to outweigh the downs. However I now feel that the time has come for me to stand down and pass the job onto a younger man.

I will be retiring from the day to day grind at the end of this year but I will remain on the board as Company Chairman, so you haven’t got rid of me completely just yet. My place will be taken by David Owen, whom a lot of you will have met already, and for those of you who have not yet had the pleasure, I hope I can introduce him to you very soon.

Those of you who have the pleasure of knowing my history will remember that Zircon rose, phoenix like, from the ashes of my previous company. Fortunately customers that knew me prior to the birth of Zircon had the faith to trust a start-up, and give Zircon a flying start. Since then we have managed to grow our customer base, our staff and our turn-over, which I’m sure my successor will endeavour to continue.

Over the years I have met a lot of interesting and amusing people; hopefully they thought the same of me? We have been fortunate enough to take part in interesting and demanding projects that have allowed our engineers to show off exactly what they can do.

All in all it’s been an experience that I shall never forget, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make it so.
