Once again the end of another year draws ever closer, and as the countdown to Christmas begins we have taken the opportunity to have a look back at the activities of the previous year.
2016 has been a good year for Zircon. Once again we have had the pleasure of working with Siemens and Knorr Bremse, two of our longest standing customers, on a variety of rail based projects. On top of this we have been fortunate enough to work with and get to know a number of new clients, which includes Aegis Engineering Systems and Newcastle City Council. Some of the projects that we have worked on during this year have given us the opportunity to continue to grow our skills and experience as a company.
Looking forward into the coming year, we are seeking to expand and grow as a company. We are excited to be showcasing our railway expertise at Railtex in May, where we hope to introduce a number of innovative rail safety systems that we have been developing.
There have been a number of changes all over the globe throughout the course of this year, with the UK voting for Brexit in June and Trump being successful in his campaign for the White House just last month. Despite not being anywhere near as significant as these events, Zircon is also experiencing a change. Our MD of 15 years, Brian Hunt, has decided to retire at the end of this year and pass the role onto David Owen. David has already begun to settle into his role and continues where Brian left off in maintaing Zircon’s drive towards continuous improvement.
