Problem Definition
Working with clients to identify, analyse and document project requirements
and carry out feasibility studies, technical assessments and prototyping
to determine the best approaches for full system development.
Requirements Engineering
Identifying the business, user and functional requirements necessary when
instigating, scoping and defining a new or altered system, utilising support
tools such as DOORS and ROSE to capture and analyse these requirements.
Feasibility Studies
Feasibility Studies are a low cost method to mitigate risk before embarking on a full project. For a relatively small expenditure a detailed
investigation and analysis of factors influencing the project can be made to
determine if the project is viable and highlight the range of options and potential
issues.
Prototyping
Zircon uses prototyping to investigate technologies and determine the best approaches
to solving client problems. Using methodologies such as Rapid Application
Development a working model can quickly be put together to gather user feedback
for inclusion in the requirements gathering process, test various aspects of
a design or illustrate ideas or features.
Legacy System Analysis
Zircon can examine legacy systems to determine the best approaches for:
- Line replacement of a part of the system that uses obsolete hardware.
- Building an interface to extract data for a newly introduced system.
- Enhancing system functionality.
